Nacho Cheese Doritos Chips Cake

This was for for an ex colleague of my best girlie. She knows me inside and out, and decided to let me have some fun and got me to recreate birthday girl's favorite snack in cake!

The toughest part of this cake was in replicating the packaging of the tortilla chips. I was a bit apprehensive about painting it at first, but once i started, damn, i couldn't stop!

And of course, the most fun to do was the tortilla chips itself. I spent a long time trying to think of what i could use to make the cheese powder that is liberally coated on each and every chip. So what i did was to use my brush and give it dabs of orange edible coloring. 

Cake was carrot cake with vanilla filling.
